Update

Take a peek at the game I'm making now. It's a tactical role playing game where you recruit, train, equip and manage mercenaries, then assign them into teams and send them to squares on the map. When they get to a square you (will!) go to beautiful turn-based combat pitting your soldiers against the enemy - the government of a yet to be named country that you are trying to overthrow.

I'm working on it full time and will hopefully be able to get it finished this month or early in August. :)

In case you're wondering where you've seen something like this before, about 10 years back a very under-appreciated game called Jagged Alliance 2 was released. The game is awesome, one of my absolute favorites of all time and definitely worth playing even though it looks a bit old these days. You can still buy it on Steam or from Strategy First so if you're into turn based combat and micro-managing teams of mercenaries.... do it. Even if you're not check out this short video and maybe you'll change your mind about this awesome genre.
